Re: 2nd Tex. Inf. State Troops 1863-64

The highest ranking officers I can find in the 2nd Infantry Brigade, T.S.T. was Lt.Col. Frank B. Sublett and Maj. William H. Parks. Lt.Col. Sublett was later promoted to brigidier general and placed in command of the 3rd Brigade District, T.S.T. Brig. Gen. Sublett was a wealthy land owner with 80,000 acres and 114 slaves in Trinity County.

Some of the troops in the 2nd Infantry Brigade, T.S.T. (6 mo., 1863-1864) were guards at Camp Ford, four miles NE of Tyler,Texas. Tyler, Texas was the 2nd Brigade District headquarters. Members of the 2nd Infantry Brigade, T.S.T. were also on picket and patrol duty along the Texas-Louisiana border. However by state law, T.S.T. were not allowed to leave the state.
