Roberston Cavaliers - Terrell's Texas Cavalry?

Hello,

In the collections of the Illinois National Guard rests a flag marked "Robertson Cavaliers" that was taken by Illinois troops on the Red River Campaign (most likely). This flag is an ANV variant with the unit name on the cross arms.

There's a chance that this unit has an affiliation with Terrell's Texas Cvalry regiment but we do not know for sure. This regiment was part of Buchel's Brigade in this campaign and the 2nd Illinois Cavalry fought against them at Mansfield where Buchel was killed.

What we need is a positive ID for the Robertson Cavaliers. Were they from Robertson County and part of Terrell's command? Were they raised by Col. Jerome Robertson, thus carrying his name? Terrell had a plantation in Robertson County so that seems to be the best bet so far but firm notations elude us.

Any help would be appreciated.
