Linda Portwood Rounsaville,

Your "William H. Portwood enrolled on August 17, 1861 in Captain Moore's Militia that had about 125 soldiers. Some of the soldiers in this militia participated in the Battle of Round Mountain near now Manford, Oklahoma.

I have two more "Portwoods" listed from Hopkins County TX in my 128-page Name Index of my 128-page BOURLAND IN NORTH TEXAS AND INDIAN TERRITORY DURING THE CIVIL WAR: FORT COBB, FORT ARBUCKLE & THE WICHITA MOUNTAINS.
