Yes, I'm retired from the Navy, but still working for Georgia Dept. of Labor. Mahaly is a pretty name. I have seen it spelled Mahaley, too. Would the tribal records in Talequah list those who stayed in Georgia? I have heard a lot of Cherokees married whites, or pretended to be white, in order to avoid being sent west. When I finally retire from working for a living, I hope to have time to pursue some of these "trails." Thank you for your husband's service. Mine was nowhere near as exciting. Stan
