Confederate Pension Records

Hello--I have two questions 1-Where would I be able to locate information on my GG Grandfather Samuel H. Doebner
(Silmer) b. Germany in 1839. I have located him as serving with DeBray's 26th Texas Cavalry Co F, but the service records that I received from the NARA list Samuel as serving with DeBray's, and also transferring from that unit to the Navy. I was only able to obtain service records. No pension info. from NARA.

Here is a quotation from the papers that I received..."I certify that the within named Samuel Doebner, Private of Captain ?? Armstrongs, co. F of Debray's Regiment of Texas Cavalry born in Saxony in the State of Germany aged 24 grey eyes, red hair and by occupation a sailor, was enrolled by Maj L. B. Davis at Boliver Point on the 13th day of October 1861, and was mustered into service by Maj. L.B. Davis at Boliver Point of the 13th of October 1861, to serve during the war, and is now entitled to dischage by reason of having been transferred to the Marine Service by Special Order No. 172. Head Quarter district , Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, dated Houston, TX June 26 1863."

Since Samuel was transferred into the Marine Service would he have a pension file/service record for this new assignment?

The the Head Quarter District includes Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, would he likely have records in these other places?

Thank you.
