Does anyone know exactly what this "Act" orders? My ggrandfather was in the Sandies Home Guard at Gonzales, Tex. which was organized as a result of this Act. However, the Archive in Austin does not have a discharge date for him. Was this group just disbanded at the end of the Civil War since they were volunteer group? Seeking more information on this group of Civil War veterans. Thanks.
