I'm working on a book on the Battle of Sabine Pass. I'm looking for original primary accounts of that battle if you know of any outside the usual sources in libraries, etc. I'm also looking for a picture of Dick Dowling that was taken before the war. It shows him minus the mustache with his wife Annie. The picture has been printed in a few magazines without attribution and I'm trying to find the original so I can get proper permission to publish it in the book. If you haven't visited the Sabine Pass battlefield it's worth a visit. The monuments and interpretive materials are good and the Museum of the Gulf Coast in nearby Port Arthur is outstanding.
