Yes, I'd love to see it. There were several big reunions in Galveston and Houston at about the time you mention so it might have been at one of those events. Several of the Sabine Pass vets ended up in the Confederate Home in Austin so it might have been there also. If your friends has the names of any of the vets I can verify them pretty quickly. As you can imagine, after the war the number of people who claimed to have served with Dowling increased pretty dramatically. I notice that the numbers tended to grow particularly large around St. Patrick's day each year.
