ggrandfather was in Co G 12 Texas Cavalry. His name was John C. Hanson, buried in Cherokee Co., East Texas. I do not have much else on him. Can you refer me to some references. I am just beginning to search for him. That unit fought mostly in the Red River campaign in Louisiana anound present day Shreveport. Hope to hear from you soon.
