That's really a wonderful story. Can you tell me where I might find out more? I am quite certain that L.P Barrett of the 17th was Lewis Pitchford Barrett, who married my GGGrandmother's sister, Sarah Ann Green, in Bastrop Co. TX. Now know he had to have survived the war, because he and Sarah had their 8th child in 1877. Thank you so much for your interest and help.
