According to Jos. Chance's book, both W.W. Evans and John P. Evans served in Co. C of the 2nd Texas Infantry, just as you say.

John P. Evans is shown to have been wounded at Shiloh and wounded at Vicksburg, while there is no additional information regarding W.W. Evans.
