General Douglas H. Cooper

I know General Douglas H. Cooper was probably not in Texas?? but my maternal 2nd GGFA served under him while living in the Choctaw Nation and I'm wondering if Gen. Cooper might have drawn some troops from northern Texas to fight at Pea Ridge. The following is what a representative of the Choctaw Nation wrote to me regarding this:

"George (Risner - my 2nd GGFA) and sons served in the Civil War (1861-1865) in the Confederate Army, with the Choctaw Division, under the command of General Douglas R. Cooper. The Choctaw Div. was promised that if they would join the Confederate Army (South), that they would only be required to fight in their own Indian Territory. As per usual, their first battle was fought at Pea Ridge, Arkansas."

Actually, I suppose for various reasons, that these divisions and units were fluid with soldiers joining various units at various times and probably with no records of some. I still can't find my maternal GGGF, Thomas D. Williams on any rosters at the Battle of Pea Ridge.
