Thank you for the slide show--well done. The governors of Kentucky and Texas should have attended that sublime ceremony. There should have been a large band and bus loads of school children. It is a bitter sweet thing, to honor our Texas ancestors and realize we live in a society that lacks a truly informed sense of history and appreciation for their sacrifices.

I would like to find out why Texas monuments are so often made of "Texas" pink granite. You can explore battlefields and pick them out from a distance, long before the words are legible.
