My memory is (often!) subject to correction these days and I don't have any quick-reference books at hand, but do I not remember an incident involving the Texas Brigade...possibly on the Plank Road during the Battle of the Wilderness.. where Robert E. Lee in the excitement and heat of battle rallying them with shouts of "On my brave Texans!" rode Traveler almost into the enemy's firing line and members of the Texas Brigade grabbed the bridle and shouted, "Lee to the Rear!" dragging he and his steed back before the Yankees could sight in on him???
