I would like to add my thanks as well for the details on Middleton Tate Johnson's 1860 Campaign. I have studied it from a different angle; The Dallas Company commanded by Nicholas Darnell, included Dallas founder John Neely Bryan.
Many names from the rosters of the 10 companies in Johnson's Regiment are found in the State Troop and CSA Regiments formed in the following years in north and central Texas.
An expedition of note which immediately followed Johnson's failure was Sul Ross and his Rangers who recovered Cynthia Ann Parker.
