The Texas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Texas Civil War Sesquicentennial

I am not a part of, nor represent the State of Texas Commission or the Sons of Confederate Veterans State and National Commissions, but I do know that they exist and are functional. The SCV has began to designate certain events a key and will be published. As this is a 5 year program, it can not be wide open 24/7 and remain funded and functional. I will voice my concerns as before to a member of both the State and SCV Commissions and have him voice our concerns in their meetings. I will also offer him voice here so that some of you can have a chance to volunteer or give both time and money. I am the Commander of a Camp and keep my ear to the wall.
There was some mention of the beginnings of cross workings between agencies. I saw this in the Civil War Courier or one of its associated magazines, and there have been SCV Telegraphs about the Sesquicentennial. I can pass these missles on here, if someone is not getting this type information.
