The Texas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Texas Civil War Sesquicentennial

Subsequent e-mail to my friend on the commission, seems to confirm the position that the THC is not functioning. The problem may lie with the Governor. It seems that he may have second thoughts about appointing a Civil War Sesquicentennial Commisioner at the same time that he is running for office. Something about the black vote. In my case it has to do with Confederate blood. Many others have prodded THC to no avail. Thank goodness for political correctness. It keeps us from doing anything. Everyone is lobying Congress about health care, maybe we need to loby the Governor and the Historical Commission. I served 32 years and feel I have the right to ask for something we need.
