Rangers under Caldwell,Ben and Henry McCulloch operated out of Seguin in 1839.In March,1842,Seguin was the site of Camp Seguin,one of the camps at which considerable numbers of volunteers gathered following the Vasques invasion early in that month.The camp was out at Flores Rancho,on the west side of the Guadaloupe opposite the town.
