On Sept. 27, 1864, he was elected 2nd Lt., and the place was Fort Randell.
I can't find a Fort Randell or Randall in Texas.
Most of his enlistment for three years was spent in Galveston, Sabine Pass, and Camp Kyle. He was on detached service several times as a recruiter and once as a guard for the gunboat Sachem.
Can anyone help with where Fort Randall might have been. I find one on the Nebraska border, but doubt that could be where he was.
