Here are abstracts from his two records, both, of only a couple of cards. You may procure these records through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above.

Ezekiel Williams, 45 year old Farmer, enrolled as a 1st Lieutenant in Company C, Taylor's Regiment Texas Mounted Rifles/1st Indian Regiment Texas Cavalry*, December 14, 1861 at Fort Washita, dropped December 27, 1862

* The 22nd Regiment Texas Cavalry was organized January 16, 1862 and re-organized June 30, 1862, with ten companies, A to K. It appears to have been reduced to a battalion of six companies, A to F,some time after February 29, 1864. The organization was known at various times as the 1st Indian Regiment Texas Cavalry, Merrick's Regiment Texas Dismounted Cavalry, Taylor's Regiment Texas Cavalry, Taylor's Regiment Texas Mounted Rifles, Stevens' Regiment Texas Cavalry, Stone's Battalion Texas Cavalry and Merrick's Battalion Texas Infantry or Dismounted Cavalry

22nd Regiment, Texas Cavalry (1st Indian-Texas Regiment)

22nd Cavalry Regiment [also called 1st Indian-Texas Regiment] was formed by Colonel R. H. Taylor during the spring of 1862 with 873 men. The regiment was assigned to W.R. Bradfute's, Flournoy's, W.H. King's, and J.E. Harrison's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department. In May, 1862, its force was down to 20 officers and 315 men, and it lost 1 killed, 9 wounded, and 1 missing at Newtonia. Later it was dismounted, saw action in Arkansas and Louisiana, and in March, 1865, contained 14 officers and 167 men. It was included in the surrender on June 2. The field officers were Colonels James G. Stevens and Robert H. Taylor; and Lieutenant Colonels John A. Buck, William H. Johnson, Thomas Lewelling, George W. Merrick, and Robert D. Stone.

Ezekial Williams, elected Captain, Company E, Chambers' Battalion Texas Reserve Corps Infantry* May 11, 1864, his name also appears on a statement of Regiments and Battalions of Texas State Troops, as Captain, 1st Battalion Texas Infantry, Chamber's Battalion, Texas Reserve Corps. dated December 5, 1863 at Houston, no further records.

* The battalion was organized May 11, 1864, with five companies, A to E
