Baylor's Regt. Arizonia Brigade

In Oct. 1862 my great grandfather, Samuel Levi Tyler, reenlisted in the Conderate army in Centerville, Leon Co., Texas. His company was attached to Baylor's regt. When the war ended he was with Wharton Calavary that surrendered in Columbus, Texas in June, 1865. I seeking information on these two units. When he originally enlisted in the Confederate army he was with Ben McCulloch's army that fought in Missouri- Wilson Creek. He was captured in Missouri behind Federal line and taken to Ft. Lavenworth, Kansas. He was to be hung but escape from his guards and made it across the frozen Missouri River (Feb. 1862). He returned to the Confederate lines in time to fight at Elk Horn Tavern. In 1864 he fought in the Red River campaign and participated in an action referred as the "Forlorn Hope". A small number of Conderates captures a Union supply base and large number of Federal troops. I' m seeking information on these events as well. Your assistance is appreciated. RCD
