This research is for the bio chapter of my book on Camp Nelson. I've got everything covered from 1840, when he married to when he died in 1862. I have very little on him from 1822, when he was born until 1840. I know his father was murdered in 1825, and his mother is said to have died also in 1825. I don't know if this is part of the same assassination plot. If she did died in 1825, then who raised the three year old Allison Alston Nelson, too become a cattle raiser, lawyer, Georgia and Texas Legislator, mayor of Atlanta, Georgia and confederate General. I need any sources on his early life. Thanks for any help. R.D.
