Re: 19th texas regiment, cavalry

Steve
My Harris family is from Tennesse. I do not know where in Tennessee. William J Harris from Pickens Co. Alabama gave his place of birth on the 1850 census as Tennessee (about 1825).
My connection with the 19th Texas cavalry is through Ben Smith, Co. A, 19th Texas cavalry.

I would like very much to read any information about the 19th Texas Cavalry you have ( and the Harris family too, if there appears to be a link).
Incidentally, Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas has a small Confederate museum including a flag from Parson's Brigade ( which included the 19th Texas Cavalry). You might want to consider sending a copy of your ancester's memoirs to be preserved in the college's collection.
