Be careful with the NARA file cards for Browns' 35th Texas Cavalry. I am nearing the final stages of research on a regimental history for Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry and have noticed many of these cards are actually Likens' Regt.
Sadly the file cards held by the NARA have placed men from Likens' Regt who were in Louisiana on cards for Brown's Regt. hence the confusion.

For example, Louis Lehmann is listed on his NARA file card as being in Brown's 35th and captured in Louisiana 1864. A book of Louis Lehmann's letters with commentary will be released by Hill College Press on Feb 25th. Based on his letters Louis Lehmann served in Company "D" of Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry Regt, not Brwn's 35th.

J. Price of Co. "E" Likens' 35th shows up only on a file card for Brown's 35th in Louisiana, but in his pension he testified he was with Likens' 35th in Louisiana. The list of examples goes on...
