Do you have a middle name for him? I have done some research on Anderson-Border's Regt Tex Cav and have a G W Woods from Angelina Co. sometimes soldiers would join another Regt. while assigned to another and interpose there name. The G W Woods I have, was detacted to the Commissary Dept at Tyler,Texas herding cattle, until wars end.
