I can not offer any new information, but rather ask if you can share any information on this unit. My great Grandfather (Newton Martin) was with this Unit - from Texas. He was wounded and captured at the Battle of Milton TN (Vault's Hill) and sent to Fort Chase for the duration. He eventually got back to Texas and died in 1906. It would be great if there are any personal narratives still in existence.
