J A McDade CO D 5th Texas Infantry

I believe that J A McDade was my grandfather's grandfather from the searches I've done and the autobiography written by my grandfather who was an interesting character himself. He said that McDade was an officer, but he is listed as a private on the muster rolls. Embellishment perhaps. I know J A McDade was killed on July 2,1863 at Gettysburg in the vicinity of Little Round Top. I also know that many of the men in Company D of the 5th were from Montgomery County. He lived on the Crawford Ranch which was in Waller County, but you Texans know it is next to Montgomery County (my grandfather's grandmother's maiden name was Crawford - he lived there for a while after he got in trouble for shooting a man at age 10 or 12 in New Mexico and had to leave home because the law didn't know what to do with him, but I digress.). I'm assuming he may be buried in the Confederate section of the National Cemetary at Gettysburg but who knows? Can anyone put me onto a source or book that would give details of the 5th Texas' actions at that battle or other pertinent info?
