Thanks. He is refered to as a "boy" but he would have had to have been the father of my greatgrandfather. I don't know what constitues a "boy"; maybe like "Good Ol' Boy"? The family name on the other side of the family was Crawford, who owned the Crawford Ranch along the Brazos where he lived. The only Crawford listed in Hood's Texas Brigade was an officer in the 18th Georgia as far as I can tell.
