Mike, J.D. Calloway graduated from Georgia Medical College at Augusta in 1860. A head surgeon offered him a position in a war hospital but he turned it down. He instead enlisted with his brothers and or cousin july 1, 1861 in co B 15th Alabama Inf (Oates) at Midway, Alabama. He doesn't show up as a physician until the 1870 census in Pike, County Alabama.
