I had read your post several days ago and decided to look in Broadfoot for Texas. I did not find a Patty but there is listed a Z. R. Petty. When I looked him up on Third Fold wich was formerly Footnote I found a Z. R. Petty 1st Lt. in Co. E of the 34th Texas Cav. It says Z.R. Petty Co. E Alexander's Regt. appears on a copy of a list of Commisioned Officers elected and those relieved at the Reorganization June 27 , 1862 in accordance with the provisions of an act of Congress approved April 16, 1862 and General Order no. ---- of date June 26 , 1862. List dated Indian Terr. Fort McCulloch June 30 ,1862. Under Remarks it Says S. D. Ross elected in place of Z. R. Petty. PS. S. D. Ross is Stephen D. Ross , Captain in Broadfoot. This may not be your man but might be worth taking a look at. Good Luck
