Years ago a lady found a Waco Guards button on the edge of her yard near Camp Nelson. I had wondered for years how the button had gotten there. I was thinking the 8th Texas might have passed through the area on their way east and lost the button, but now I see the 10th Texas might be more likely with their ties to Waco, Texas and that some of them could have been wearing the rare button. I wonder what was on General Nelson coat. The only picture I know of General Allison Nelson, he is wearing a civilian coat.
