Woods' 36th-32nd Texas Cavalry in Louisiana

Does anyone have access to the Shreveport News, April and May of 1864, or some other publication of the same time period? I have been trying to read the casualty lists of the Shreveport News using the Chronicling America website. The digitalized on-line newspapers are nearly impossible to read. I am searching for my Confederate ancestor, WILLIAM A. TAYLOR, who was wounded in one of the Red River Campaign battles. William A. Taylor was with Woods' 36th Regiment and would have arrived in time for the fighting at Blair's Landing, Louisiana. Perhaps he was injured in later skirmishes/battles. He was listed in the 1864 Galveston Weekly News, 27 April 1864, as being severely wounded. DeWitt County, Texas, probate records report that he died in Louisiana. I am trying to determine the engagement that mortally wounded him and where he could possibly be buried since he was not instantly killed but died of his wounds.
