The battles of Iuka and Hatchie Bridge, like so damn many others, have been under-reported, unappreciated by history. Those very same Confederate forces that were the front lines at Iuka and the saving rear guard defense at Hatchie Bridge were truly great American heroes. I admire them all, especially the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice.
