Re: Maj. W.J. Alexander-McCord's Regiment

His name was William J.D. Alexander. I don't know what the initials stand for. He was born in 1836 in Fayette County, Tennessee. He resided in Harrison County, Texas in 1850 and then Erath County, Texas in 1860. After the war, he moved to Arkansas. His biography can be found in Goodspeed's "Biographical and Historical Memoirs" of Lonoke County, Arkansas. He was still living there in 1910. I have not been able to find his date of death but it appears to have been before 1920.
