This is quite a mystery. Stone's Brigade may be what was temporarily known as Speight's Brigade and later Polignac's Brigade.

In Titus County there are Lilleys and Cherrys related by marriage. I don't know if these are the men mentioned but seemed a possibility with the poor records and many organizational changes late in the war. The below is from: www.tngenweb.org/hardin/families/noah-g-lilley.rtf

10. Capt. William Crogan2 LILLEY (Noah G.1) was born 1824 in Hardin Co., Tennessee, and died 1864 in near Crockett, Houston Co., Texas. He married Martha Jane ( Mattie ) ROGERS 1847 in Titus Co., Texas, daughter of Edwin ROGERS and Nancy TUGGLE. She was born 26 Dec 1830 in Henry Co., Georgia, and died 27 Mar 1861 in Daingerfield, Titus Co. (Morris Co.), Texas.

CENSUS: 1860 Census of Texas, Titus Co., Daingerfield P.O., Precinct 3, datd 10 July-15 September 1860. Age: 36 Occupation: Farmer

TEXAS RANGER COMMANDER: Capt. William Crogan Lilley served as a Commander in the Texas Rangers from 1861-1862 he served in Beat No. 8, 6th Brigade, TST.

CIVIL WAR: He was a Captain in the Confederate Army CSA. Served in Co. D, Saufley's Scouting Battalion, Majors Texas Calvery. Was present for duty in February 1864 at Galveston, Texas. Died during the war from pneumonia, near Crockett in Houston Co., Texas. He served from 1863 until his death in 1864.

19. 2nd Lt. Isham Perry3 CHERRY (Nancy2 LILLEY, Noah G.1) was born Abt. 1830 in Hardin Co., Tennessee, and died Bef. 1910 in Washington Co., Arkansas. He married Elizabeth J. Abt. 1856 in Texas. She was born May 1833 in Tennessee, and died Bef. 1920 in Texas.

Notes for 2nd Lt. Isham Perry CHERRY:

CIVIL WAR: Private to 2nd Lt., Co. D, 10th Regiment, Texas Cavalry. CSA On 5 March 1862 while on a march from Clarksville, Texas to Arkansas Perry Cherry and Boliver Lilley came down with the measles. They were left in Clark Co., Arkansas to recover. They later rejoined their command.
