On August 14, 1869, Colonel Dudley William Jones, a lawyer, and part owner of the paper (Klu Klux Vidette) that became the Houston Post; was at dinner and died choking on food. His bio says a hemorrhage of the bowels. There was an epidemic of some kind at the time and some how Jones grave has been lost. He was commander of the 9th Texas Cavalry Regiment for most of the war. He became a Colonel at 23. Jones was only 29 when he died. I sure need to find his grave and make sure it is marked. The only thing I have seen is that it was not well kept. He has a large monument in one of the north Texas towns. I will look that up. My mind says Titus County. Jones is a true Texas hero and was noted for hid daring charges. He was loved by his troops.I need help finding him.

At the end of the war he was one of the acting commanders of Ross' Brigade.
