Excellent! Thanks! I'm familiar with Steen's (usually spelled that way as far as the geographical location) Saline east of Lindale in the north part of the county, but didn't know they issued scrip. I also know the Cousins, Sharp, and Rasbury surnames associated with Smith County, but I'm not sure what Cousins and Sharp did together. Cousins had a grocery on the north side of the square. I'll need to do some digging. It's amazing what continues to crop up in local history.
