sworn Oath of Allegiance to the United States.

He rejoined his regiment following exchange.

Morgan for 1 year, appointed 3rd Corporal September 1, 1862, captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, Ark., January 11, 1863, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill. prison, paroled April 1, 1863 and sent to City Point, Va. for exchange, April 7, 1863, wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga, amputated right leg at upper 3rd thigh September 26, recorded in the hospital on the Sept/Oct, 1863 and through April, 1864, admitted CSA General Hospital, Charlottesville, Va., February 8, 1864, receipted for an issue of clothing and paid October 7, 1864 for the period Nov. 1, 1863 - Feb. 29, 1864, retired August 18, 1864 on certificate of disability, Invalid Corps P. A. C. S., applied for an artificial limb February 6, 1865 at Richmond, Va., age 24, resident of Houston, Texas
