Nelson Cogsdell, Private, Company G, Alexander’s Regiment Texas Dismounted Cavalry,* enlisted July 1, 1862 at Ft. McCulloch, C. N. by W. M. Bush for 3 years, recorded present on the June 30, 1863 muster roll, no further records

* A number of men of this company formerly served in Company E, 22nd Regiment Texas Cavalry.

The 34th Regiment Texas Cavalry (also known as the 2nd Regiment Texas Partisan Rangers and as Alexander’s Regiment Texas Cavalry) was organized April 17, 1862, and re-organized June 27, 1862

………..

Horace Gray, Private, Company G, Alexander’s Regiment TexasDismounted Cavalry,* enlisted February 23, 1862 at McKinney, Texas by J. O. Straughn for 12 months, captured near Yellow Bayou, La., May 18, 1864, arrived at New Orleans, La. May 21, transferred and exchanged at Red River Landing, July 22, 1864, no further records

M323: Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Texas

Note: Nelson must have been dropped from the rolls sometime in the latter half of 1863 as he does not appear on the next surviving bi-monthly muster roll of Jan/Feb, 1864 in which Horace was recorded present. His removal from the muster roll may have been due to discharge, death, transfer, capture, desertion, etc. We just do not know from these records

I could not locate the Fowler men.
