I am looking for information on Col. J.P Border's Battalion/Col T.S. Anderson's Regiment.
My Great Grandfather John A Thompson was in this unit.
I know that it guarded prisoners at Camp Ford,Tyler,Tx.in 1864.
I have gathered the following information from his widows pension application.
J A Thompson became sick and was furloughed home, Jacksonville,Cherokee Co,Tx, from Camp Ford where he died 23 July 1864.
Had served about 18 months when he died.
Was in Capt Holts Co.
Any information on this unit would be appreciated.
