Yes, I have him listed in two militias as well as McCord's Frontier Cavalry (TST) that became McCord's 46th Frontier Cavalry CSA in May 1864, but I do not have him listed as a captain. ..It is possible that he was elected captain late in the War.

My 3rd great grandfather, Capt. George W. Stevens, fought in the Civil War with McCord's Frontier Regiment. All I have at this point is the following information:
Stevens, George W. – b.7/12/1831; d.4/11/1893. CSA, McCord’s Frontier Regiment (Texas Cavalry), Co.C; Corporal. Flat Rock (Cowen) Cemetery; Wise County, TX. Born in Alabama. First enlisted for three months and served 3/9/1862 thru 6/30/1862. Re-enlisted on 12/25/1862 at Camp Brunson for three years.
