If you have several names in a unit, they may all be the same man. My kin from Company K & I of the 6th Texas had many records that were mis-spellings. The records were in several packages, and they were confused when they went to the same company. I solved for two nolans and ended up with a normal amount of records for each with an average of 7 mis-spellings. Remember a lot of men could not write, less could spell and some were the clerks and First Sergeants who kept the records. Keep a good heart.
