I am trying to locate any info on a Ernst Gaebler from Yorktown Tx. Dewitt Co. He was with the 24th Cav. 2nd Tx. Lancers- Wilkes, Co. K.
A Charles W. Gaebler from the same location enlistd with the 36th Cav.-Woods Co. G. I think they were brothers, possibly cousins. I know nothing about Ernst except for the above info and the story that has been handed down that he went off to the war and was never heard from again.
