Re: Reinterrment of Col CR Earp 10th Tex Cav

Mike, Thanks for all the information on Col Earp. I am not a descendant, but my wife's great grandfather, Capt R.S. Lyles, Co. H., 10th Tx Cav., from Rusk Co., Tx. appearently knew Col Earp. He was one of a Group of Officers that returned to Texas in Nov 1862 until Feb 1863 to get supplies and new recruits. He was Kia March 31 1865. Don't know where but suppose it must have been around Mobile Ala. Some of his descendants acquired a Confederate Headstone and had a memorial Service for him in 2003 at the Linn Flat Cemetery, Nacogdoches Co., Tx. My wife has a Photo of him in Uniform and his Pocket Bible that he carried in the Civil War.
