Michael,

The only major cemetery I know of for civil war dead is the Yorktown National Cemetery, but there were lots of small churches between Yorktown and Williamsburg where soldiers could have been buried.

I also checked on DANIEL A. McALPIN, 6th GA Inf Co A in the Confederate Dead Data Base by Jeannette Holland Austin, as taken from the obits appearing in the Confederate Veteran Magazine [1893-1919]. I did not find Daniel but I did find:
