There were 17 Grandsons of Neil McAlpin in various Regiments in the war. I have located most of their graves (7 died in the war, five from disease, two at Mechanicsville).

I appreciate your efforts, is their a list of the smaller gravesites that may have Confederate dead. Daniel's body wasn't sent home. His brother Alexander (Co. E 10th Ga.) died at Macon of pneumonia (he is buried at Rose Hill Cemetary in Macon)while on guard duty. there were no other relatives from this branch.

By the way, I am actively searching for the battle flag of the 17th Louisiana. Any chance you have ever heard of it's whereabouts?
