Re: Isaac N. Davis, Co. H, 50th Virginia Inf.

Mr. Chapla,

I am truly honored that the author of the regimental history of the 50th would take the time to answer my query. Your book is on my list of future purchases.

Both of these men are my gr-gr-gr-uncles. I have little to
add, except that Jerome B. Davis is listed as a coalminer in the 1880 census, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Wythe County, Va. (Incidentally, his granddaughter recently passed away.)

I wish I could ascertain whether Jerome was released from the hospital in Richmond in time to be with his regiment in Pennsylvania.

Best Regards,

John C. Williams III

gr-gr-gr-grandson of Samuel Caddell Davis, 45th Virginia Infantry.
