Guard Hill aka Front Royal, Va

I would begin your search at Front Royal, Prospect Hill Cemetery. There are 186 Confederates buried here but only 91 are known, 7 of whom were Col. Mosby's men, executed as POW's. The soldiers are buried in a circle around a monument inscribed:

"They died in the cause of honor and justice

Erected by the Ladies Memorial Association August 24th 1882

In memory of the one Hundred and eighty six honored men who lie buried here, from this and other Southern States. They gave their lives in Defence of truth and Right.

Virginia Honor the Brave."

Prospect Hill Cemetery is located on Prospect Street. From the Court House, go South 3 blocks on Royal Avenue (US340). Turn right on Prospect Street. The monument to Mosby's men is located near the cemetery's entrance. The Confederate graves are located to the left near the crest of the hill.
