Since this shows James' rank "out" as Private, is it a safe assumption that he did NOT get killed in battle? Did this Militia serve anywhere AFTER 1861 or did it disband? What was the militia? I understand cavalry and infantry but not the status of militia. Sorry I know so little about the military history aspect of the civil war. Baker Singhass was James' brother.
