Re: seek info: 7th Va. Cav. or Laurel Brigade

Hi - just came across your site while doing some research into the Laurel Brigade. My g-g-grandfather was in Company E and had the distinction of serving under Turner Ashby before he was killed. Name was Patrick Henry Kelley and he lived in Edinburg, VA. According to family letters, etc. he was the company courier and was known for his very fine horse.

I've been looking for the Bridgade's flag. Probably right out there in plain view. I see you've had some responses to your specific request. Just this past weekend I was at a Cedar Creek, VA reenactment and saw a troup of cavalry carrying a 7th VA Co. E flag, so someone must have finally gotten on board and raised the unit.

I'm a civilian reenactor portraying my g-g-grandmother and trying to convey to folks the plight of those in the valley especially after 1863-65.
